My mom's birthday was this past weekend so you know I had to make her a special birthday card. I attended a class with my very talented upline, Linda Keal, to learn how to create Cracked Glass. We made three cards in that class. One of my favorites was used as the inspiration for this card.
The card is mounted on a Pretty In Pink cardstock base. The background is a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Tea Party set.
Now for the fun part...on Whisper White cardstock, I used the En Francis background stamp with Pretty In Pink Classic Ink. The flower design is from the stamp set Playful Petals, stamped in Basic Gray Classic Ink. The flower was colored using a combination of Classic Ink watercoloring and the Stampin' Write markers.
After the design is colored and completely dried, I used the Cracked Glass technique. A wonderful tutorial about this technique can be found on Split Coast Stampers.
The cracked glass piece was mounted on a piece of Pretty In Pink cardstock and wrapped with a 1/2" Pretty In Pink striped grosgrain ribbon. A flower designer brad added just the right finishing touch before assembling the whole card.
I love the way this turned out and my mother was thrilled with the extra "gift".

Wow the cracked glass is just wonderful!
So pretty. I have never tried the cracked glass technique yet. I want to though. Did it work easily for you?
